review: FOREST PRIMEVAL

Tempe  //  Buy from Amazon.com Skull Mountain is the epicenter of a freak earthquake which unleashes evil demons into the surrounding forest. A pair of amateur treasure hunters and a troubled woman with a psychic link to the evil are the only ones left alive to confront the restless presence that's wreaking havoc and spilling the blood of the innocents in FOREST PRIMEVAL! This film should fulfill all the wet dreams of any self-respecting b-movie fan, as we finally have a "coming togethere" of Schwarzenegger & Stallone-like proportions: J.R. Bookwalter's Tempe Video produced & has released a film by none other than do-it-themselves, b-movie gods The Polonia Brothers!! This is epic, amazing, fantabulous and just plain freakin' awesome - as a fan of both, I'm as giddy as a fat kid in a candy store... Anyone who truly loves b-movies will undoubtedly share in my sentiments (and the rest of you louses will wonder what the big deal is... to which I scoff.) There's no b-movie like a Polonia b-movie, and the brothers are in full effect on this one, busting out their video camera, heading into the woods to conjure up a little "Evil Dead" but with far better (worse) special effects and infinitely more love (camp.) I'm not sure what all the ingredients are that make a Polonia Bros. film a Polonia Bros. film, but no doubt it involves beautifully wooden acting (included here), unbelievable situations (natch), groan-riffic special effects (yep) and some leaps in continuity that'll put a giant shit-eatin' grin on your face (bueno.) I loved this film, and hope it is but the first of many to come from a true partnership of b-movie icons!
