review: BIKINI BLOODBATH

Can their gym coach (Debbie Rochon) come to the rescue of the bikini clad group? No, but when Chef Death (Rob Cosgrove) shows up at the party, hilarity ensues and the blood bath begins. "Bikini Bloodbath is just pure brainless fun, and I laughed until I came." - Felix Vasquez Jr., FILM THREAT While I suppose it should not come as too much of a surprise (given the plot synopsis above), all you really need to know about this film is the title, as that is absolutely, unequivocally self-explanatory and reveals all: "Bikini Bloodbath" - got it? Think about it: bikinis (implying scantily clad ladies) + bloodbath (murder, mayhem, gore & blood.) Any questions? This is very much a low-budget romp, but it's a helluva fun one - there's no thinking involved, just onscreen carnage & hijinx, with some nudity, weak (yet still humorous) attemps at humor and some of the best special effects no money can buy. Plus, you get the bonus of the modern-day scream queen, Ms. Debbie Rochon herself, making an appearance as well. By no means a good movie, but a damned entertaining one, this film definitely gets 2 thumbs up from the DVDschlock gang and hope you support independent cinema and check this hidden gem out! Video The full frame (1.33:1) picture (faux letterboxed, by the way) is about what you'd expect from this type of low-budget affair: (mostly) clean & clear cinematography that's hardly THX quality, but is more than sufficient for the subject matter! Audio A Dolby 2.0 stereo mix is included here, and no complaints to speak of - perfectly solid & serviceable.
