want list: Cosmic Christmas

I thought long & hard about what I should put down as the very first (and far from the last) entry in my "DVD Want List" and it didn't take me but a few moments to pick an absolute childhood fave, one that I have been pining for like a raving crackhead: "Cosmic Christmas" (aka "A Cosmic Christmas.")

This 1977 Nelvana 30-minute gem is permanently fused to my childhood memories, as I fondly recall the good ol' Canadian Broadcasting Corporation running this sucker each and every Christmas (usually as a double-bill with "The Christmas Raccoons," which will probably soon find its way onto this very same "Want List.") The simple, quaint, cute, loveable story tells the tale of 3 aliens who come to Earth to learn the meaning of Christmas (sure, why wouldn't they?) and end up learning just that, thanks to a boy, a bully and a goose. 'Nuff said.

Not seen since a limited home video release years ago, this one turns up now & again on bootleg VCDs on ebay (if you're lucky) - I have even personally tried to license the DVD distribution rights directly from Nelvana, but have been told that "they are not available" -- does that mean my patience will soon be rewarded? Here's hoping!
